Tracey & Paul - Spanish City Wedding Photography

I had so much fun photographing Tracey & Paul’s wedding! They had a beautiful, intimate ceremony with close family at North Shields Registry Office. Once they’d tied the knot we headed out into the sunshine for some confetti fun and group photos on the terrace, making the most of the stunning views of the river Tyne! Then it was time for The Conga!!? I had an absolute blast photographing this lot dancing around the registry office, soundtracked by Gloria Estefan of course.

After that it was time to head to Spanish City in Whitley Bay, where everyone headed into Trenchers for a well earned drink while I took the newlyweds for a little wander and a few portraits. We got some stunning shots on the steps at the dome and a little further along the promenade with views of St Mary’s and Spanish City in the background. On our way back to join the other guests for fish & chips and champagne, Tracey & Paul thought they’d hop on the carousel for a couple of photos too! Such an absolute pleasure as always to photograph such love and joy in this beautiful place I call home, and honoured for such a lovely couple to put their trust in me to capture their special day for them. Thanks so much Tracey & Paul <3

Hello, World!

Nicky & Paul - Surprise Wedding at North Tyneside Registry Office Wedding Photography

Nicky & Paul had a truly special day when they tied the knot at North Tyneside Registry Office in North Shields. They had kept their plan to wed a complete secret from their unsuspecting family, who thought they were just in Whitley Bay to enjoy a family holiday, but Nicky and Paul surprised everyone with the news that they were actually all there to celebrate their wedding! They’d planned absolutely everything from outfits and accessories for everyone to an amazing wedding cake and celebrations at How Do You Do in North Shields.

After an intimate ceremony with the wonderful registrars at the Maritime Chambers, I whisked the new Mr & Mrs off for some photos around North Shields Fish Quay. I’ve come to know this area really well and we didn’t have to go too far to find some pretty special backdrops. I love this part of the day because it gives the couple a chance to be alone and enjoy the moment, the wedding day can go so quickly so this time is precious!

We got some gorgeous images down by the beach with Herd Groin and The Port of Tyne in the distance. Nicky & Paul were total superstars, so loved up and full of joy!

Hexham House and Tynemouth Beach Wedding Photography - Sarah Metcalf Photography

I’m very excited to share some more photos from Philip and Sarah’s amazing wedding day in September! Their amazing micro-wedding has convinced me that anything is possible, and even the smallest, stripped back weddings can be an absolute dream!

They had their ceremony at Hexham House, which is such a beautiful venue. It has endless photogenic spots amongst the flowers and sweeping lawns which made socially distanced group photos a cinch! Next up was a trip to Tynemouth for some stunning coastal shots with the newlyweds. Philip & Sarah were originally planning to have their reception in Whitley Bay, but due to restrictions, they were planning instead to have a zoom party with their guests later that day! So we had a walk down to King Eddie’s Bay and climbed along the rocks (Sarah is my hero for doing this in her wedding dress), and we made the most of the gorgeous weather, blue sea and skies.

These two were the happiest couple ever! Even despite the restrictions, they didn’t stop smiling and laughing all afternoon. I know it wasn’t the wedding they hoped and planned for, but it was amazing to see everyone take it in their stride and these photos are proof that this was one very, very happy couple!
