Claire & Elliott's Spring Wedding at The Parlour - Sarah Metcalf Photography

Claire & Elliott's Spring Wedding at The Parlour - Sarah Metcalf Photography

Claire and Elliott’s beautiful spring wedding was just amazing and I’m excited to share some of my favourite images from this very special day! They had their wedding ceremony at St John’s in Killingworth which is surrounded by woodland, filled with beautiful trees and lots of daffodils and bluebells. After a heartfelt ceremony witnessed by their nearest and dearest, and one of the longest, most enthusiastic confetti lines I’ve ever seen, the guests were whisked off in a vintage double decker bus to an exciting reception at The Parlour at Blagdon.

The Parlour is fast becoming one of my favourite venues to shoot. I love how they’ve opened up the outdoor space with the canopy, it’s intimate without feeling small and it’s the perfect size for guests to mingle and move freely without feeling too separated. From a photographic point of view, there are so many beautiful spots in and around the grounds to take portraits, I’ve had the pleasure of shooting several weddings here now and they’ve all felt unique and special!

I loved every one of Claire and Elliotts wedding details; gorgeous white and pink roses, bright pink bridesmaid dresses complimented with cornflower blue tie for the groom. Hand drawn illustrations and names of fells for the table centrepieces, pink silk chair wraps, and a classically perfect three tier wedding cake with floral details.

After their wedding breaktfast, the evening reception brought a new lease of life with more friends, Claire’s bouquet toss, toasted marshmallows and s’mores around the fire pits, cocktails and a dance floor so bouncing that every time I was about to pack up and go home, something exciting would happen and I’d find myself staying for another song!

The Parlour at Blagdon Wedding Photography, Rachael & Jonathan October 2020

Rachael & Jonathan's beautiful, intimate wedding at The Parlour at Blagdon a few weeks ago was such a pleasure to be a part of 💛

As well as the government restrictions and social distancing, it didn't stop raining for the entire day! Not even for a minute! But despite the challenges they managed to pull off an amazing day filled with happiness shared by close family and friends, delicious food and drink from The Parlour, and endless personal touches that made their special day truly theirs. Everything was handmade by the couple, including stunning illustrations by Jonathan for the centrepieces.

Hexham House and Tynemouth Beach Wedding Photography - Sarah Metcalf Photography

I’m very excited to share some more photos from Philip and Sarah’s amazing wedding day in September! Their amazing micro-wedding has convinced me that anything is possible, and even the smallest, stripped back weddings can be an absolute dream!

They had their ceremony at Hexham House, which is such a beautiful venue. It has endless photogenic spots amongst the flowers and sweeping lawns which made socially distanced group photos a cinch! Next up was a trip to Tynemouth for some stunning coastal shots with the newlyweds. Philip & Sarah were originally planning to have their reception in Whitley Bay, but due to restrictions, they were planning instead to have a zoom party with their guests later that day! So we had a walk down to King Eddie’s Bay and climbed along the rocks (Sarah is my hero for doing this in her wedding dress), and we made the most of the gorgeous weather, blue sea and skies.

These two were the happiest couple ever! Even despite the restrictions, they didn’t stop smiling and laughing all afternoon. I know it wasn’t the wedding they hoped and planned for, but it was amazing to see everyone take it in their stride and these photos are proof that this was one very, very happy couple!
